My Latest Projects

I have kinda been getting into sewing bags lately. I've been buying patterns off Etsy.com where people create them on their own, and then email them to you after you pay for it. It's quite handy, and I've been having fun with it. I made the brown bag about a month or so ago. The pattern I bought for it wasn't as clear on a few steps as I would have preferred, so I had to use my imagination. The opening is smaller than I was wanting, but would probably work really well if I was only taking a few things. I thought it was cute though.

A couple weeks ago, my sister in law Sarah called Ben up and asked if he would be OK with staying home with the girls while she and I had a "girl's night." He's usually really good about watching them for me to get out, so the biggest thing we had to do was decide what to do. Sarah got a new sewing machine for Christmas and hadn't had the chance to use it yet. We decided to order a pattern off the internet, go to the fabric store, and make it. We of course had to get some pizza and treats to snack on too. We had a lot of fun...other than cutting everything out. We both decided that was the worst part. The pattern was pretty clear for the most part...just up until the end where you were to attach the handle...Yeah--all I'll say is Sarah and I both got a lot of use out of our seam-rippers! We had a great time, and both have cute bags to show for it.

This is the inside. I always have to point out to people my little pocket for my pen. I thought that was a nice touch.

Cute! I love the fabrics you guys picked out.

Hey did you ever get your cookies?

Yes, I did (after calling and asking if I could come get them)...but not all at once. The Dad showed up at the door with only the Thin Mints and no Samoas. Apparently they were out and would have to get them to me "next week". It wasn't until the END of the next week that I actually got them. Ugh! It was such a frustrating process! Never again!!

I LOVE you bags!! Especially the brown one. You should start selling them for extra money. Do you put dividers in the inside or just one big pocket?? Maybe I should learn how to sew in my spare time. HaHa(what spare time? I work too much) What a great talent! I'm jealous.
