The girls have been a lot of fun lately. They're both saying so much and developing such personalities. It's funny how different they are. Courtney is our dancer, while Lindsey prefers to sing. Lindsey likes comfort, while Courtney likes style. Courtney is an early-riser, while Lindsey would stay in bed until 9:30 if we'd let her. We took them to the park in our neighborhood earlier in September. We wish we could say we take them there often, but time hasn't exactly allowed it. We had Lindsey ride the entire way on her tricycle. Courtney was pulled in her little red wagon. They both had a great time. Lindsey and I do some baking occasionally. She loves to help make cookies, and lick the batter when we make cupcakes. She's pretty good at putting sprinkles on the tops...she's quite generous with them.
Courtney's constantly making us laugh with the things she says. Whenever she passes gas, she says "Scooz me!...I toot!...heh heh". But when anyone else sneezes, burps, or coughs, she also likes to say "Scooz me! You toot!" She hasn't quite figured out the difference. She also had a bad encounter with a cat recently. She wanted to go outside, so I let her go into the back yard for a little while. I stayed in, and was busy doing something else. All of a sudden I heard Courtney outside screaming on the top of her lungs. I ran to the glass door, where I saw she'd backed up against it. I saw that the puffy white neighbor cat (whom I've named Dave) was slowly walking toward her. She's so short, that Dave is about 3/4 her size...so he must have seemed pretty scary. I brought her inside, and she wouldn't let me put her down for a long time. She's never held me so tight. She didn't want to go outside again for a while.
Lindsey's been doing pre-school at daycare a couple days a week. She's learned the letters A, B and C and their sounds. She's practicing cutting with the scissors, and is making cute little projects. She brought home a pair of binoculars they made last week (out of TP rolls), and a caterpillar (out of an egg carton) this week. She's always so excited to show me the things she's learned. I've been so happy with the gal who watches them while we're away. It's been such a great fit.
The weather has really changed to look more like fall. It was a little sad for summer to be gone, but I do like fall a lot too.
Here are some recent pictures of us throughout the last month.
Lindsey wanted to take my picture eating a cupcake too.
So cute!
