Pickin' in the Pumpkin Patch

This weekend, we had the opportunity to take Ben's family to the Linder Farms Pumpkin Patch. Our family also went last year, so maybe this will become a tradition each October before Halloween. We all had a bunch of fun. The girls had a hard time picking out pumpkins. Lindsey especially, took a while to decide on the perfect one. We took a hay ride around the patch, and got off where we thought it would be a good selection. We also took part in the petting zoo, kiddie barrel rides, sling shot pumpkins, hay maze, and concessions (hotdogs, mini donuts, and cocoa). It was the perfect day to spend time with family and be outside in the beautiful fall weather.

Courtney talking to Ben about the pumpkins she liked.

Grandma Jan found some great looking pumpkins.

Grandpa Doug was great for carrying little girls tired bodies.

Sarah and I (now you have to come each year Sarah--it's tradition!)

Sisterly love

They each found their favorite one.

These are probably really fun for the kids...

...but they really hurt a grown-ups bottom!

Lindsey tried to feed the animals, but they were already pretty stuffed. Bummer!

Courtney just wanted to climb the fences.

Lindsey made a point of hugging each goat in this corral.

Ben got 3 shots at slinging a pumpkin at a target. He did hit it once, so Lindsey got a prize.

This was the dinosaur she named Buddy. Buddy the brontosaurus.

Lindsey ran through the maze a bunch of times...up until she got to going too fast and biffed it on the ground. She was OK--it probably hurt her pride more than anything.

Courtney couldn't figure the maze out, so she thought it would be easier just to climb over the hay bales.

Dad says that the girls are going to grow up thinking pumpkins grow like that, which where are all the vines to trip over. What's the deal with them already being cut from the vines...?
